Don Ayotte has abandoned his bid to become state chair and will run for vice chair.
The move leaves Christiana/Millcreek's Mike Protack in the race against Kent's John Siglar.
Ayotte also now has an opponent. State Rep. Greg Lavelle, the House Minority Leader has announced he'll oppose Ayotte. Believed to be an insider's choice, Lavelle will be heavily favored among all five New Castle delegations, making him a prohibitive favorite to win.
Kim Hoey Stevensen of Sussex has declared for the office of Party Secretary, being vacated by Kate Forsten. She is at present unopposed. Stevenson served as communications director for the Urquhart campaign during the pre convention period in 2010.
Long time party treasurer Tom Shopa is running for re election and is at present unopposed.
