Former U.S. House candidate Glen Urquhart has filed for Sussex County Republican Chair.
Urquhart emerged on the Delaware Republican scene in 2010 running as a disciple of Reagan. He narrowly won second place in balloting at the 2010 state convention, then in a major upset won the primary by less than 600 votes against endorsed candidate Michelle Rollins.
Urquhart was defeated in the general election by John Carney 57%-41%.
No major candidate has yet emerged to challenge Urquhart for county chair. He is running in spite of persistent speculation that he will seek the Republican nomination for another statewide office in 2012.
